Currencies and exchange rates

Work in Kenya shillings and any other currency you deal in.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings โ†’ Currencies and choose Single currency (one currency for everything) or Multi-currency.
  2. Choose your local currency (used on every screen and report) and, for multi-currency, your group currency (for consolidation and journals), and tick the other currencies you trade in (e.g. USD, EUR). Click Save currency settings.
  3. Under Add a rate, enter each rate as "1 group currency = โ€ฆ" with the date it applies from, then Save rate.

Good to know

  • Once invoices or payments exist, the local and group currencies are fixed; you can still add or remove other currencies.
  • Documents in another currency are converted at the rate for their date. Documents without a rate are listed as Transactions waiting for a rate and are updated when the rate is added.
