Setting up vans and salespeople

A van gets its own warehouse and POS counter.

Steps

  1. Van sales → Vans & salespeople (van sales supervisors): New van - a code (e.g. V001), a name, the registration, the main warehouse it loads from, and its salesperson.
  2. Navigate makes the van’s own warehouse (VAN-V001, marked as a van) and its own POS counter in the main warehouse’s branch.
  3. On the van’s page, Salesperson and history: assign someone permanently (it hands the van over - the previous assignment ends, kept in the history) or as a temporary cover until a date (the van is the cover’s meanwhile, and goes back by itself).
  4. A salesperson has one van at a time. Off the road keeps a van’s history but stops it being loaded.

Good to know

  • Roles: the quickest way is Users & access › Access profiles - Van Salesperson, Van Sales Supervisor, Van Warehouse Officer and Van Finance Officer each create a ready role. By hand (Roles & permissions › Van sales): salespeople view + create (plus Sales › create and Payments › create for the POS); the warehouse edit; supervisors approve; finance Payments › approve or Accounting › create. Users & access shows each person’s van.
