Receiving payments

Steps

1. Members pay to your M-Pesa paybill with their member number as the account (or M00012SAV for a product, or a loan number). Each payment becomes their receipt at once.
2. From a member's page, M-Pesa prompt sends a request to their phone; the receipt follows when they enter their PIN.
3. Receive a payment for cash or a bank deposit: choose automatically (overdue instalments, those due now, one period of the compulsory contributions, the rest to savings) or split it yourself.

Good to know

• The same M-Pesa or bank reference is never taken twice. A mistake is reversed (by an approver, with the reason) - balances, loans and the books go back; nothing is edited.
