What it does in plain terms
A sale, a purchase or an expense is entered once. Navigate then updates the stock, what customers owe, what you owe suppliers, your bank and mobile money balances, and the ledger. Nobody has to re-key the figures into a separate accounting package.
The website footer names the product as CarGen Navigate and Navigate ERP. Each business gets its own workspace, and its data is kept separate from every other business.
What is in it
Navigate is built from modules, grouped the way they appear in the menu. Which ones you get depends on your plan, and you can hide those you do not use.
| Area | Modules |
|---|---|
| Sell | CRM, Customer experience, Customers, Sales and POS, Van sales, Service (workshop), Payments |
| Buy | Suppliers, Purchasing, Imports, Inventory, Expenses, Staff requests |
| Finance | Accounting, Treasury, Letters of credit, Petty cash, Fixed assets, SACCO and cooperative |
| Operate | Approvals, Dispatch, Freight, Fleet, Lease and rentals, Production, Projects, Construction contracts, People, Payroll |
| Insight | Reports and Analytics |
| Marketplace | Navigate Marketplace, Key suppliers |
| Admin | Users and access, API center, Settings, System controls, Report builder, Audit trail |
How the daily work flows
- Sell: quote or sell, issue the invoice (signed by KRA eTIMS in Kenya when connected), receive by mobile money, card, bank or cash, and the receivable clears.
- Buy: request and approve, order, receive the stock, enter the supplier invoice. Stock and the payable update.
- Spend: capture the expense with its receipts, approve it, pay it. It posts to the right account and cost centre.
- Check: open the dashboard, or read the daily business report that can arrive by WhatsApp and email each morning.
What it connects to
Each organisation connects its own accounts in the API center. Credentials are stored encrypted and each call is logged.
| Connection | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|
| M-Pesa (Safaricom Daraja) | Payment prompts to the customer's phone, callbacks, and matching to customers. Kenya. | Available |
| Pesapal, Flutterwave | Card checkout and payment links, plus mobile money where the provider supports it. | Available |
| KRA eTIMS | Signs invoices and credit notes through OSCU, VSCU or a certified integrator. Kenya. | Available |
| SMS, WhatsApp Business, email inbox | Customer messages, the daily report, and complaints turned into tickets. | Available |
| Airtel Money and MTN MoMo direct | Direct collections through the operators' own APIs. | Planned |
| URA EFRIS (Uganda) | Electronic fiscal receipting. | Planned |
| Bank statement APIs | Automatic bank feeds for reconciliation. | Planned |
Controls built in
Everyone has their own login and role. An access matrix sets what each role may view, create, approve, post or reverse. Cost, margin and financial statements can be hidden from people who do not need them.
Approval templates hold a document until the right people approve it. Posted documents are reversed, not deleted, so the history stays. An audit trail records who changed what, when and from where. Two-step sign-in and a list of signed-in devices are available.
How to look at it
You can open the demo with sample data at /demo without registering, book a live walkthrough at /book-a-walkthrough, or register and use the free period. See the pricing and onboarding page for how each works.
Where Navigate may not fit
- It needs a connection for nearly everything. Only logging a customer visit and taking a sales order work offline on a phone.
- Direct tax connections are live for Kenya only. Uganda EFRIS is planned, and there is no connector yet for Tanzania VFD or Rwanda EBM.
- Direct bank feeds are not live. Bank statements are entered or imported from Excel or CSV.
- Companies in a holding group are kept apart. There are no transactions between them and no consolidated reports today.
Frequently asked questions
Is Navigate an accounting package or a full ERP?
It covers both. The ledger is double-entry, and most postings come from sales, purchasing, stock and payroll documents rather than typed journals. Smaller plans leave the ledger out and cover trading only.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in a browser. It can also be added to a phone or computer as an app, without an app store.
Which languages does it support?
English, Kiswahili and French. Each person chooses their own. Menus and labels change, but your own data and printed documents stay as entered, and a phrase not yet translated stays in English.
Can my developers connect to it?
Yes, on plans with API access. There is a versioned REST API for customers, products, sales documents and payments, with keys you control.
